Mineral: quartz
Gem: citrine
Size: 17x23 mm
Carat: 30.0 ct
Cut: rectangular cut
Origin: Brazil
Genral Info: The name is derived from the German "quarz" of uncertain origin. It was called "krystallos" by the Greeks, but this later became the generic term for crystal.
Additional Information
This is really simply cut native stone from Oro Verde, Brallian citrine, but it is cut deep enough and with sufficient angles to produce a clean stone without a "fish-eye". It shows that you can find native cut stones that are resonably cut if you look for them.
