The name is derived from the German "quarz" of uncertain origin. It was called "krystallos" by the Greeks, but this later became the generic term for crystal. |
| Additional Information |
| This stone was custom designed by the author. It is a very simple eight sided bottom with a domed top. The top is frosted and then even spaced facets and a table are cut into the frosted top. Each of the top facets acts like a port showing an 8 sided star. This stone cut from a piece of Oro Verde citrine. Similar designs ca nbe found in one of the Vargas faceting design books (under domed stones). |
